Frogfish -- Monkfish Lophius piscatorius is a species of anglerfish of the family Lophiidae of the order Lophiiformes, with a natural distribution in the deep coastal waters of the continental shelf and continental slope of the northeast Atlantic Ocean, from the Barents Sea to the Strait of Gibraltar, in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea.
