There are eight teams left in the college softball season and from Thursday, May 28 through Monday, June 1, they will be dwindled down to two as the College Softball World Series takes place. The games are scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN and ABC.

The Simpson College softball team lost in a May 31 semifinal at the NCAA Division III World Series in Salem, Va., ending the Storm’s season. Redlands College defeated Simpson 6-3 to advance to the Division III championship series. Katie Shaner was 2-for-3 with a home run for Simpson. Marina Cronin pitched 4 1/3 innings and allowed one run.
